The 22nd edition of Estágio de Orquestra de Jovens dos Conservatórios Oficiais de Música (Youth Orchestra Internship of the Official Music Conservatories - OJ. COM) will take place in Aveiro, at Teatro Aveirense. Taking place between 13 and 19 April, the initiative brings together musicians from all over the country and culminates in a concert open to the public on the final date, scheduled for 17:00.
The Youth Orchestra of the Official Music Conservatories (OJ.COM) is a project of the Specialised Artistic Schools of Music, better known as Conservatories, made up of a selection of students from these schools who come together in rotating internships. In 2025, Aveiro will host the project, in an edition organised by the Artistic School of the Calouste Gulbenkian Conservatory of Music in Aveiro, in partnership with the Aveirense Theatre and Aveiro City Council.
OJ. COM allows selected young instrumentalists to develop their musical skills and talents in an orchestral context, while enjoying artistic and human interaction. This year's guest conductor is Robert Houlihan, who will take charge of the orchestra and the programme suggested by him, including a concertante piece performed by the soloist who won Category D of the Youth Competition of the Official Music Conservatories (CJ. COM) - an edition also organised by the EACMCGA.
THE CJ.COM is a nationwide competition aimed at students enrolled in official conservatoires from the 1st to the 8th grades.
