Teatro Aveirense premieres new online project
Published at — 10 December 2024
This Wednesday, 11 December, at 9.30pm, Teatro Aveirense will premiere ‘Plâncton’, an online project that brings together video works by three renowned artists on the Portuguese contemporary art scene: Tatiana Macedo, Pedro Tudela and Henrique Pavão. The initiative is part of the Aveiro 2024 - Portuguese Capital of Culture programme.
‘Plâncton’ arises from commissions made to these three creators, with a recognised track record in the field of video, challenging them to develop works that, like plankton circulating in the oceans, are permanently disseminated in a digital environment, without barriers to access, schedules or fixed recipients. This challenge resulted in the original videos ‘The Agreement’ by Tatiana Macedo, ‘Tempo’ by Pedro Tudela and ‘Red Flower’ by Henrique Pavão.
This new section comes as part of Teatro Aveirense's strategy for a programme that extends beyond its walls, accessible at any time of the day and anywhere in the world. This is the eighth project in this line of programming, having presented two other projects this year: ‘From Chronos to Kairos’ and ‘Osso Gesto’, both also part of the Aveiro 2024 - Portuguese Capital of Culture programme.
